I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Ibi at the ACP conference in Boston while attending one of the courses at the event. From our first interaction, I was struck by her friendliness and warmth.

During our conversation, she shared her journey as a doctor from Nigeria striving to enter the American medical system. Her story was particularly inspiring to me as an International Medical Graduate myself. Despite the challenges she faced moving to a new country after establishing herself as a doctor in her own country and an American medical system that was not particularly open to foreign doctors. Dr. Ibi remained determined and resilient.

Her willingness to support and encourage others stands out. She patiently answered my questions about navigating through the American medical system. Remarkably, she even offered her personal number, inviting me to reach out whenever I needed advice.

Since then, I have reached out to her on several occasions. She always extends a helping hand when she can and she is always encouraging. Dr. Ibi’s mentorship has been invaluable to me, providing guidance and reassurance as I navigate my own path in the medical field. Her dedication to helping others succeed is truly inspiring, and I am grateful to have her as a mentor.
